More Chins Than…

Posted by Christopher Van Epps on October 23rd, 2006

This entry is the winner…the one that broke my streak of laziness. I was going good there for awhile. I have so many people not to thank!

Anyway.

This story is about the Chinese government, realizing that they likely won’t be able to stop their citizens from expressing themselves in blogs, making it a requirement that bloggers use their real name when writing.

So we may need to change the punchline to that fat joke soon.

Nothing New to Report Here in Apex

Chemical Fire in Apex, NC

Besides the big explosion and chemical fire down the street, that is. I may have difficulty getting into work today, based on what I see on the local news.  Big fun!

Republicans + Sex = Democrats

Dennis Hasert

So Dennis Hastert is in a little hot water for not stepping down as Speaker of the House after it was revealed that sex with boys gives Mark Foley a big ol’ hard on. Speaking honestly, I believe Hastert when he says he didn’t know the explicit nature of e-mails from Foley to congressional pages. It doesn’t seem to me to be the kind of thing that Foley would share with anyone, you know? Did Foley CC other people in those e-mails to the pages, I wonder? I seriously doubt it. But it doesn’t matter because anytime sex between men and boys is brought to the table, the responsible parties suffer a huge blow (forgive the pun, please) to their credibility.

Even without this scandal, the republicans would have had a tough time keeping their posts this November. With the scandal, though, it’s fait accompli.

PETA Bullshit

Posted by Christopher Van Epps on October 1st, 2006

This new video gem (second one down) is an excerpt from Penn & Teller’s Showtime series called Bullshit that talks about how PETA, a non-profit tax-exempt organization, kills far more animals than it saves in addition to funding arson and supporting convicted felons.

A site called www.petakillsanimals.com contains several smoking guns, including PETA’s own records that show how many animals it has killed versus how many were adopted or otherwise saved. Wow. I had no idea.

I’ll say it again. People suck.
